Wow so lots has happened since I last wrote, sorry its been so long.
I will start with my birthday weekend of fun! Friday our whole DTS went on a tour of Beverly Hills and Hollywood Blvd. it was really neat to go to both places and compare. They are so different. Beverly Hills is very upscale, kind of snotty where as Hollywood is really touristy so it is really friendly and welcoming and full of culture with the many types of people that are there!
So on Friday night our weekend off started, so Jayna, Mirjam, and I headed into Hollywood for a wonderful fun filled birthday weekend! Friday night we all just hung out at a Starbucks working on some homework, then ate at California Pizza, and then just walked around Hollywood Blvd taking everything in. We stayed at this fun hostel that was painted all the colors of the '70s and we had 3 other roommates, a girl and 2 guys from Egypt who turned out to be super funny and great to talk to! Anyways so Saturday morning we headed to this great farmers market, on Fairfax and 3rd and then to the Grove shopping outdoor center next door and just hung out there for the day, eating a great lunch at the Cheese Cake Factory! My Favorite! We then headed back to change into warmer clothes and drop off our stuff and then took the train to "City Walk" at Universal Studios! A great place for eating and shopping and just taking in the bright lights!
Sunday was interesting, we couldn't fin the church that we wanted to go to so we just took the fun 2 hour train and bus ride home! Beats taking a cab for 70$! And then I just hung out, and worked on some homework!
So that was my birthday weekend. Ummm this week what has happened so far???
Oh the guy Tim, he is a contractor who is working on the site here (I can't remember if I already talked about him), anyways he had come in during a worship session last week and just broke down, he said that he could feel this amazing love in the room. So we all prayed for him and then this week he came back and said that the last week has been the best of his life, he is a changed man! He is more positive, happy, not angry or hurtful anymore, and he has forgiven for some things in his life. It was just amazing to see what can happen with someone in such a short amount of time.
So tomorrow we find out where we are going for our missions trip, and I can't wait to find out! So check back soon for that exciting announcement!
Cheers, Mallory
P.S. Mom your birthday in a box was amazing! Just what I needed!
