Okay, so I thought that I would share my story of a taxi ride I took coming back from the beach on Saturday! Here it is!
The scene set up: Mirjam and I get into the taxi....
Taxi Driver: Do you want to listen to some music?
Mallory: okay
TD: do you want to listen to some Russian music?
M: sure
TD: do you like Yanni?!
M: Do I!
So the taxi driver puts on the music, however instead of Yanni, its Backstreet Boys blaring out of the speakers.
TD: Oh, Yanni, its okay.
So we are driving on the freeway, 5 lines, speeding. The guy slams on
the breaks and pulls off onto the shoulder of the freeway and stops
dead in front of a tree. Mean while I thought we were going to crash
into the tree, and had no idea why we were stopping.
TD: Its okay, Its okay. (while trying to get something from the passenger seat and I thought that he may pull a gun on us or something)
The whole time he was trying to get out the Yanni c.d. so that we can listen to yanni.
Then he backs up and speeds off into traffic again. He then tries to
puts the c.d. in the player while driving and so now we are swerving
all over the road.
When we got back to the base I thought that
we could pay with a credit card, however he only excepted cash so then
he was yelling at us. So we had to drive over to the 7-11 to get cash.
In the end I wasthankful to be alive and home! Note to self, never complain about the taxi service in Saskatoon again!
Cheers, Mallory
