Beauty

In our world beauty is very defined. Its defined by the media, how are society views and deems one to be beautiful. We are judged by what we wear, the color of our hair and eyes, how much we weigh, whether we have clear skin, acne, freckles, scars, wrinkles, big boned, muscular, or round and plump. We are fed the message that to be beautiful you have to be thin, tall, and basically free of anything that may make you an individual.

But why is this? And better yet, Why do we believe these messages that are being told to us? It used to be that heavier set people where deemed as "better looking" then the super thin, that you could wear clothing that didn't' show off every part of your body, but kept some things a secret. That we were comfortable with who we are, and how we were made. But now we judge our selves and we don't think that we are good enough, or we aren't beautiful.

What makes you beautiful though? And who has the right to say how we should all look, and do we really want to all look like each other? Did God create us that way? To all look the same or to be our own person, to be an individual?

When we do not perceive our selves as being beautiful, or smart, do we not end up portraying that? We are so hard on ourselves for not being good enough, smart enough, or pretty enough all the time, but if we really took time, looked in the mirror and saw who we really are, we would see that we are smart, and pretty and good enough.
