God is Good

So this is it the final few hours before I leave for Asia! God has been teaching-g me so much in these last few days.

Let me start with Saturday, we worked at the Christmas tree lot all day from 8am-10pm. Unloading the semi full of Christmas trees and the selling them all day. Our team there had so much fun, however it got really cold at night, to the point that you could see your breath in the air. Not very Los Angeles like. One family who came to buy a tree came back minutes after buying it and brought back with them a portable fire pit it was kind of one of those clay Indian pot fire things....I don't know what it was called, but it was great to have a fire and warmth.

The rest of the week has been really busy with getting ready to leave and still having class. Our speaker this week, Graeme, was amazing. He has lived in India for 19 years and is originally from Australia. He is the most wise and knowledgeable person I have ever met in my life and to just listen to his stories and the wealth of information that he knows is an honor. He was a great speaker to have for the last week to close off our lecture phase, however the down side to that was he was only here for 3 days.

As of yesterday afternoon, 24 hours before I am to leave for Thailand, I still owed $250.00 of my outreach fees and I didn't know where it was coming from. I was starting to get slightly nervous because I didn't know where or when it was going to come in, however I remained faithful to God and continually remembered that He would provide. (I knew that for my outreach fees I wouldn't have them payed off until the very end because about a month into my DTS I felt God telling me that I would have a lot to learn from this, which I did!) So last night there were a few of us sitting around talking with Graeme and money came up and it all of a sudden started to come in. One girl from another school gave me all the money she had that she could find which was around $9.73 and then Graeme said that he had a quarter for me that would make it closer to $10, however he couldn't find it at which point Mike A. got up left the room and said "Hold on." and then came back some minutes later with $6.50 worth of laundry quarters. Then another student gave me over $35 out of his wallet, by the end of the night I had $75. So this morning I took my money in and then only needed around $130 and I was just praying that I would get it. About 20 minutes later I walked past the office and the girl working in there called me and said that I was paid off and that I got an anonymous donation to pay off the rest of my school! I was in disbelief! Go God!
